>>>There was talk of porting VFP to 64 bit by the Fox development team many years ago, and it was basically abandoned as impossible without a full re-write.

>Chen, working in his spare time in China, has set himself the task of a 64-bit version of VFP and has released an alpha that mostly works. The IDE does most things, some work needed for 64-bit ODBC and a few other issues I forget. He's also ironed out some Windows compatibility issues and 6 known bugs in the 32-bit version in the rest of his spare time.
Based on what codebase? Doing from scratch is very different than re-writing.
I find it amusing that there are so many efforts trying to re-write FoxPro NOW. Developer share is rapidly plunging going towards 0 and yet some people feel that it's worth the effort to try to build VFP clones? This mighta been interesting and useful 10 years ago maybe...
Could it be a nice
