Do you think if the median income of the country jumped an extra $35K the world would be any better off?

It would depend on what was also going on with health care costs, food prices, gas prices. etc.

Also would depend on what was going on with GDP and other metrics.

Don't know if you're old enough to remember Dan Aykroyd spoofing Jimmy Carter on an SNL skit in 1979.

"Since I've been president, the U.S. economy has been screwed. But I have a solution. Think of inflation as our friend. Without it, you couldn't buy 50,000 dollar cars. Don't you wish you could do that? I wish I could"

Here's a more marginal, but ultimately more practical question....the things our current administration has permitted that have hurt the lower middle class. The increase of payroll taxes (at the same time the president tried to sign an executive order to give congress a pay increase)....the measurably negative impact of the AHCA on hours and wages. And while this one is even more complicated, this administration has resided over the largest average gas price range in our lifetimes.

The rich have done just fine under this president....actually an argument could be made that some rich folks have done BETTER than under Bush. It's the lower middle class that have done worse under the current president and administration.
