Web fonts and desktop fonts are different animals, nor are web sites and Windows apps. The requirements are different. However, you can learn a lot from web design.

- Clean and simple
- Liberal use of white space
- Keep in mind the American with Disabilities Act. Many web sites will fail this (using Windows settings for colors)
- Clean, crisp fonts (For Windows apps, SegoeUI is the correct choice)

>If you are looking for a more modern look then I would suggest looking at the current popular fonts used on the web such as Georgia, Palatino, Tahoma, Verdana etc. Keep in mind that form layout is just as important as the font. Again, look at some of the top sites such as auto and other major manufacturers who have the cash to hire the best designers. Also Google whatever industry you are targeting and look at the web sites of the majors for ideas. Although web sites are not data entry pages the basic layout and colors can give you ideas.
