I think the US would be more stable, which would be good for the rest of the world. There's also a fair amount of evidence that people with lower incomes donate a higher percent to charity, so there might be more money being given to "repair the world." (One of the imperatives of Judaism is "tikkun olam," which translates to "repairing the world.")
