I have considered that on several occasions actually. There are other VFP groups in Chicago and Michigan which are closer. I have considered them as well.

I have not pursued going to the Philly group for three reasons:

(1) I attended a Gay Pride event there in the late 90s when I was on the Indy Gay Pride board for a short time. (No, I'm not gay. A co-worker friend of mine rented a room from a woman who was on the board, and she introduced me to them. At that time I was not a Christian, and I believed in the "equal rights" system, even desiring to do my part to help out). I equate Philadelphia with that event in my mind.

(2) I think Tamar would not welcome me even if I showed up. I think I would be escorted out of the event, or that the event's focus would shift to a scene from some movie where one person faces the angry mob.

(3) The scheduling would be difficult coordinating with my work, but I think I could work that out.

I'm not averse to it. Never have been. Would I be welcomed if I showed up? That's another question. I would be happy to present briefly on Visual FreePro (15 minutes) so as to "earn my supper". :-)
