had used SSD in dektop environment and the difference was huge. Now I am running a cluster of VMs on a server with great HD layout: reading from RAID0 (VM itself, no data run in VM partition) and 6 HD in parallell Raid as Scratch/work disk. A SSD can handle 2 VM work data, but the raid can handle 5 with better price / GB.
