My officemate took this in with a what the hell did HE do look on his face. She said all she had before then was a crappy wallet sized photo of her mom.

OK. Guilty as charged.

As it happens, though, I am working on a novel and was fortunate enough to know another Kiwi woman named Beatrice in person. A character with her name will be in the novel.

We went out in a small group to a restaurant in Auckland. She drove and dropped me off at the hotel afterwards. She had the great body, the great smile, brains, all any man needs. In retrospect it was obvious she wanted me to invite her in for the night. I was too obtuse. There are probably not many of us who will be on our deathbeds wishing we had passed on opportunities.
