>>This is a long-winded preamble to a tribute to Al Michaels, who is doing his usual stellar work at the winter games. Sometimes we don't appreciate people as much as we should. He is covering the games around the clock with apparently indefeasible lack of sleep. He is awesome.

>I've always liked Michaels. I listened to him when he did the Monday night baseball on ABC years ago, and of course, his coverage of the 1980 Winter Olympics will never be forgotten. The "Do you believe in miracles????...YES!!!" will never ever be forgotten.

>He's certainly a good football announcer, though I still miss the ESPN trio of Mike Patrick, Paul Maguire, and Joe T. (And apparently I'm the only one, as most football fans didn't like them)

>Also...I know I've mentioned before that I've always liked Costas, and Craig B. voiced a different opinion. I'm beginning to get annoyed with Costas.

Craig is a big fat pooh pooh potty pants for not liking Costas.

You are not alone in liking the ESPN trio. The trio I am liking now is the Olympics hockey broadcasting crew. They are doing sensational work IMO. I will not deliver any spoilers but their coverage of the U.S-Russia game was off the charts. They didn't show any nationalism. They made you feel good to be a hockey fan. I bet there are kids around the planet skating on ponds as we speak, visualizing themselves as Olympians.
