Rick,
People have learned to be suspicious of such efforts. Many here paid $ to eTecnologica to support their development of a VFP replacement who had lots of promising work for managed IL, and then one day they vanished. Those of us who have paid $ to Chen who has delivered wonderful results, might be more willing.
For me: at $3K/monthfor 6 months, I'd need measurable results and I'd expect the $ back if it turns out not to be what I was sold. Whereas for an investment of $200 that will answer "yay or nay" within 6 months as to whether this is a viable proposition... a much easier choice. Then all I'd need to know is that there are enough others to support the cost, because my $ becomes dead money if you don't get enough to test your promise. You might have to run some sort of pledge process so people can see whether enough $ will be raised- sort of like a $ raising that only binds respondents if the target total is reached. Precedent would be the last SWFox where Tamar et al declared an attendance figure needed to make it work, with a full refund if it wasn't achieved.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
