As Tamar pointed out, there's no such thing as stomach "flu". It's either food poisoning or more likely a norovirus (the same virus that's hit cruise ships hard this season). Very nasty bug but fortunately short-lived; you're usually horribly ill for 24 hours, then just weak for another couple of days. Yes, I am speaking from experience: I've had norovirus a couple of times and wouldn't wish it on anyone.

OTOH, I highly recommend getting a flu shot every year. We've been getting them for 10 years and watched friends and family suffer with the flu for weeks while we haven't had it.
