I wonder if that's also partly because voice calls have largely been replaced by email while the use of texting has exploded.
That's certainly the case for me. I probably do 20 business emails for every voice contact.
I've been working on a project for a while now with that involves a lot of contact with an in-house developer. We've never met. We've spoken on the phone twice. The rest has been by email and the project is moving along nicely.
Digital contact breaks down when there are a lot of questions back and forth, I think, and when that happens I try to get on the phone. Otherwise, with my wobbly hearing, I'd rather read than listen.
I'm also a cell phone klutz and will probably always be one.
Mine is usually off except when I'm in my car.
It's great when I use it through the car's audio system.
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
