I am glad I am not the only phone Luddite here ;-) I have a smartphone but I don't know why because 99% of the time it is used only to make long distance calls. Once in a while I text my daughters, to much merriment on their part at my klutziness. They use theirs primarily for texting. Which does not make them unusual, especially for their generation. A few years ago the overall number of text messages surpassed the number of voice calls.

Andy and I have basic service through Consumer Cellular. 200 minutes a month between the 2 of us - 2 phones - $30 per month total.

I don't need a smart phone - I sit in front of a computer all day long...
