I could misunderstand your reply. So, clarifying based on my understanding.

MVC = web framework. It doesn't have any data access built-in to it.
EF = data framework. It doesn't have any web knowledge built-in to it.

You use the two together. http://www.asp.net/mvc/tutorials/mvc-5/introduction/getting-started
