I saw a new production of South Pacific with one of my kids a few years ago. Though it takes place before I was born, I'm still old enough to feel amazed that it was made when it was. My son understood that intellectually, but mostly saw that all the native people were caricatures, and that all the women were weak (except maybe Bloody Mary, who was a caricature).

I guess all that speaks well to how we raised him. <s>
