I don't install on NT, but what I had to do was reboot my Win95 machine cleanly, and not launching anything at startup. I unregistered the control (in Win95 it was: c:\windows\system\regsvr32.exe mscal.ocx /u). I rebooted clean again. Then installed VS6.
