It works when the 2008 version of the files are installed. As soon as they are removed, an error is logged because ASP.NET complains that it cannot deal with the geospatial field:

"DataReader.GetFieldType(68) returned null."

...because of select command includes a field which is Geography.

Yes, that is correct. Something is dependent on an old trace of VS 2010. I really haven't found the reason for that. But, it is annoying as it leads to confusion. I do not think however that this would cause any problem, nor related to this issue.
