Local SQL database
>>>Hi
>>>
>>>I've been setting up a scanning and signature app on some mobile phone/scanners and I'm looking at storing scans when they have no signal in an offline SQL DB.
>>>
>>>Anyone tell me how long an offline DB persists and "where " is it.
>>>
>>Offline SQL was scrapped at Oracles wishes with MS looking innocent.
>>AFAIK it is still included via webview in mobile browsers, but no telling on when that will change.
>>you might have some luck finding a recent copy of google gears - but for an OS type of thing it moves around a lot ;-)
>>An alternate route could be using WebSQL "replacement" of indexedDB: there are some SQL query tools added for it in JS, talk about unneccessary dev when SQLite is/was available for such tasks ;-)

>ok but I've just put together some test pages and they work in chrome IE and zetakey (thats the browser I'm running on the handheld) so what do you mean it was scrapped ?
In IE? Rob's link also lists desktop and mobile of both IE and FF as "not supported" or blank ? And that page fits with my mental picture of what should work, not that I tested a lot - are you certain your tests were valid for IE?
