I do recall seeing various articles in the past that seem to indicate that there may be environmental conditions that might affect sexual behavior. In one article described some male mice that would behave like females (though anatomically male), and females that would display male behaviors (even attempting to copulate with females -- though still being anatomically female), and that it appears that there were hormonal changes that had occurred that had an effect while the mice were being carried by the mother -- and that these hormonal changes might've been occurred because the mother had been subjected to various influences such as environmental stresses.

I'd also recall an article or two about insects describing "homosexual" behavior, where males were behaving like females -- though mainly using it as a ruse to obtain some sort of resource that (e.g. food) that male might provide during mating ritual. Somewhat atypical behavior, but often appears to be triggered when there are environmental stresses (i.e. shortage of food).

Aren't there some species of frogs that could actually change gender (typically female to male) that might be triggered by some sort of environmental condition?
