let me tell you again: HOMOSEXUALITY IS NOT A CHOICE, YOU ARE BORN WITH IT. There is an affull lot of scientical basis to that claim. As where for yours, there is none.

Walter, I realize that weighing in (no matter how benign a manner) on this topic can always be tricky.

I have never cared much about orientation. I have friends who are straight and friends who are not. As I tell them, I am passionate in my indifference to their orientation. I don't care. So long as a person is one I can trust, is a person who treats others fairly and manages to stay out of trouble, that's always been good enough for me.

But - this "you are born with it" is junk science. It's crap - just like the "conversion therapy" and "pray the gay away" are also crap.

Nearly every claim of "being born with it" is intrinsically tied to political strategy. It's a pretext to establish perceived tolerance and ultimately false sympathy. It's my contention that those who push the "you are born with it" are the ones who are doing the greatest disservice to the people they claim to defend - as if the opposite (that someone chose it all the way) can't be equally defended.

The so-called "science" in this area has yet to evaluate genders objectively. The data they've produced on this has been based on the crudest of premises. Don't take my word for it - go ask a biologist in a university setting. The scientific community has NOT reached a strong consensus on this topic. This reminds me of the Al Gore-like people who claimed for years that global warming was a fact. Again, it was bad science and done more for political gain.

I don't think it's inconceivable that a person might be born with certain impulses, but eventually makes a decision. You might be interested to know that many females have stated that very idea.

And I'm certainly not denying that some might indeed be "born gay". It would be just as arrogant for me to deny that, as it is arrogant to claim that it's not a choice. I think these are incredibly complicated topics and any pure declarations of it being "pure choice" or "purely born with it" are too simplified.
