There is no question about whether dinosaurs existed. In the Bible in the oldest book (Job) two distinct dinosaurs are mentioned in detail. However the word "Dinosaur" is not mentioned in the Bible, but the creatures that were described in the book of Job do look very much like dinosaurs. Dinosaurs are reptiles, and as such they grow indefinitely, therefore they can become so large. The problem what dinosaurs face is the intake of oxygen sufficient for a body of that size.
The theory is that before the flood, the way how the earth was described in the Bible, there was much more oxygen available. There was a canopy of water, like a mist in the atmosphere, and the main part of the earth had a very oxygen rich climate like in a glass house. After the big flood, when all that water rained down to the earth, the climate changed and the oxygen levels and other factors became hostile to dinosaurs. If Noah brought animals onto the ark, he of course took mostly baby animals (he was not that stupid as many people today would be). So if there were dinosaurs on the ark, those little reptiles would stop growing so large due to lack of oxygen, so they did not become dinosaurs anymore, but instead evolved into smaller kinds of reptiles like lizards and their families.
People nowadays talk about climate change as if that were something new. But in fact climate change is not new and it is a very likely cause of the extinction of several animal species.
According to most creationists the fossils were formed during the flood, because the sudden increase of pressure favors the creation of fossils. That is the reason why those animals did not decay and instead fossilized. I personally don't know much about fossils, but it is mentioned that a lot of animals living today are found in form of fossils showing pretty much the same features as they do today. I do not believe that anybody "put them there" to fool the people.
Most people never read the Bible, and therefore they are not aware that the Bible mentions these things. I can understand if a person does not believe in the Bible but instead believes in other theories. But not to read the Bible and discard it as myth, and being ignorant of its content is a very anti intellectual viewpoint. People in the old ages made fun of the Bible because it indicated it could be night and day at the same time on the face of the earth. Just a few years ago people made fun of the Bible because it mentions that every person on the earth can view an event in real life time that happens several thousand of miles away from their home. So they continue making fun of the Bible for several reasons but in the end science will catch up and figure out that it was not that far away from the truth after all.
