I don't know how firm that stance is, John - some of the bishops raised a lot of dust about stem cells- but I'll give you a pass on that one.
However, they haven't said that the bible might have some nice stories in it, but it really has no more moral authority than - say - the Canterbury Tales, the legend of King Arthur or the latest Star Trek film.
Until they do that, they're hypocrites who, as Kevin said, are trying to have it both ways.
Anyone who does not go overboard- deserves to.
