Have you considered laser eye surgery? In many cases it can bring you to 20/20 or better w/o any corrective lenses. If your combination of myopia and astigmatism is severe it can often bring you to a point where moderate corrective lenses can give you 20/20 or better.

Here in BC 20/40 is barely legal to drive.
