I am developing an app for use in a large organisation, where the users work on NT4 WS and the environment is quite 'locked down'.

The problem is that if I build a std VFP 5 setup, the system blocks any user that tries to install the app, because they need local administrator rights.

Now, I realise that trying to circumvent this restriction could be a big mistake, but I am trying to offer the client some options.

Can anyone give me any ideas about how the setup program decides that it needs admin rights to run?

Also, if I wanted to write my own setup, what couldn't i do in this scenario, e.g. update the registry, write to the %windows%\System32 directory........
Regards
Mark
