>Hello all, I've just added a server to my home network which is running ( my server that is ) Windows 7 Premium and I would like to have this server available from Windows clients on my network, my problem is unless I disable the Firewall on the server none of my other Windows machines can see it, what I need to know is what ports to open or what services I need to make available on the server, I've tried enabling the usual File Sharing * services but nothing works except turning off the Firewall ( I also can't ping the server until I do this ), I've done this sort of stuff in the past but only with a server using a "proper server OS" e.g Windows server 2008 , any help much appreciated

Google [windows 7 file sharing].

If you're running a 3rd-party antivirus/security suite that replaces Windows Firewall with one of its own then you'll need to refer to its documentation.
