I will add one thing which seems to be a concern to VFP developers - code protection in the distributed EXE. This cannot happen in WinDev as the application source code is totally
removed when the EXE is compiled. The source code is not just "hidden" inside the EXE like with VFP. There are no known hacks for WinDev EXE files and it even includes anti-debugger protections built-in - e.g. trying to attach a memory debugger to a running WinDev application causes the app to freeze or crash.
Everything can be hacked but it won't be easy and you won't get the original source code. And the built-in HyperFile database supports the ability to apply strong encryption; 128 bit standard encryption, RC5 12 loops, or RC5 16 loops.
