Hi folks;

FYI, analysis

I have the code here.

It's a simple project, no hook, no nothing the sccx is as plain as it could be.
One form with a button, desktop. ShowWindow=2, WindowState=2
Code in
QueryUnload, Unload, Button.click

#1 I have compiled to exe, all files
It runs and closes fine:

#2 I remove Quit from Unload; should be superflous
It runs and closes fine:

#3 I remove all CLEAR EVENTS from Unload; should be a problem
form closes, app remains as background process
I kill the app, works number one fine with 8.1

Same problem, as expeected from IDE, IDE will not close after form close, because it stucks in main.prg, No command window.
No way to stop? (eg) Project window is there. I open, main.prg try to alter, this will stop the code execution. :)

No idea what is wrong on Richs comp.

But I all rthat I've read:
#1 get a live system virus-scan from a second comp.

#2 scan, clear.

#3 make yourself an non admin account. This is an eleveated one for what I remember, not the plain user. I'm not sure how this was called under english XP

#4 never ever again work as admin except maintenance. No browser activity as admin. Every process you start owns your rights. This is no good idea with stuff comming from the web. Danger to you. And as soon as your comp is zombified (and my guess is that the comp is, this will hide from scan running from your OS) to everybody else too.

#5 Set up VFP from scratch, VFP SP2, Fix from thread#1592503

#6 Set up the comp from scratch, best idea with some newer OS
