If some future version of Server 2xxx no longer supports SMB 1.0 (i.e. not merely deprecated), I wonder if that means its version of Hyper-V and its virtual networking won't support it either? That would be a concern for anyone who needs to run XP or earlier for any reason, in a VM. In that case the VM would not be networkable.
Might have to use a virtualization platform that supports SMB 1.0.
