>>>I once worked with a guy who was the youngest of 3 brothers. Oldest turns 16 (legal driving age), announces "I'm getting a motorbike", does so, kills himself in a crash.

>>>Second brother turns 16, announces "I'm getting a motorbike". Mother begs him not to. He does anyways, gets in a crash and kills himself.
>>>
>>>Martin turns 16, announces "I'm getting a motorbike". Mother is utterly beside herself (can you imagine?). Martin reluctantly agrees not to get one, he sticks to autos. AFAIK he's alive and well.
>>>
>>>I took exactly one trip in an auto with him when we were in our mid-20s. He was driving, I was in the passenger seat. We were talking, when he had something to say he would turn his head and face me, and say his piece for 15 - 20 seconds at a time, while driving. Even if I interrupted and told him to watch the road, he would keep facing me and finish what he was saying before returning his attention to the road.
>>>
>>>I think his saving grace was living and working on small islands, he was driving a boat far more than cars, and the car driving was basically never in large towns or cities.

>>Tell ya what - 6 months and I still cant put weight on my right leg....so much for motorbikes. Problem isn't so much the bike - it's the other idiots on the road. I need something safer - like a nice 70's Lotus Europa for example. (now picture the girly girls in my house with hands on hips, tapping foot, and look of utter contempt as I attempt to explain that).
>
>Not sure how safe a Europa would be, and visibility might be even less than a scooter :( The whole car being below the hood line of many trucks.

Hey you're supposed to be helping - not feeding the girlygirls ammunition!

>If you've still got a sore leg how would you even get in & out of one?

Oh I am an expert at that. I'm skinny and have had years of practice via my x/19's haha. Plus you see it's bigger than a scooter I can even paint it yellow - everyone will notice it compared to a scooter. (hands no longer on hips - now swinging around in the air)
