>Python runs on Windows, Linux, OS X but it's not easy to make Windows store and Apple store applications.

There are several ways to use python to create phone (tablet) apps. I like kivy (Android and iOS). I doubt anyone is creating window store apps.

As far as using either Ruby or Django for web development I'd pass on both. Today I would be looking at Angular and polymer (both from google) - along with node.js. The web is again changing so fast I wonder how anyone is keeping up. Both Angular and polymer move the computing to the client side. 'polymer' is really the future IMO.

As many of you know I make my living programming in python these days. So for me to say to pass on Django is difficult. But unless you are going to use Django for Restful api I'd say no. Node.js makes life very easy and simple.

BTW I truly dislike javascript - go figure!
