A son of a friend is moving to Detroit for one year (temporary job) and he (being now oversees) looked up online the auto insurance prices in Detroit. He is shocked and I am shocked. According to this article (
http://www.mlive.com/business/detroit/index.ssf/2014/02/detroit_has_highest_car_insura.html) the average price is about $10K. How could it be? Say you buy a 3-5 year old Toyota for $6-8K. Is this (upwards of $10K) you would expect to pay in auto insurance?
