I have used it for years, you get the full source code with it and you can modify or add to it as much as you wish. So, yes it's old - but it doesn't have to be.
What initially drew me to it was it had unlimited distribution rights with your app for no additional cost (unlike Doug's great tool which ended up being cost prohibitive as you have to pay by the seat).
