>>>>I see Kevin has brought up a valid point about overseas markets. In retrospect I should have just kept my mouth shut.

>>The overseas markets primarily are in South America. If that's your target, it matters. Otherwise it's Android and iPhone wherever you look. Don't apologize, what you said demonstrably is true.
>>
>>FWIW, Priceline is offering 10% discounts to use its native apps for mobile devices even though you can browse to their site just as easily. Clearly Priceline perceives an advantage worth 10%. So those still advocating web systems already are behind the times IMHO, trying to sell the market a hammer because that's what they have. So IMHO you're correct there as well.

>Some are in South America, some are in Europe. I wasn't looking asking Mike to "walk it back", was simply providing some context that the original quote was based on U.S. figures. (And unless the scenario has changed, MS still gains $-wise based on every Android phone sale- I believe the reverse is not true).

>You above all should know I've said many times that MS (even despite some technology advancements) is still a distant third. And I'm currently a satisfied iPhone/iPad user. But what can't be denied is that MS has had a spike in the world in the last 12 months - and that can't be ignored. There are more and more individual data points popping up where support for MS WP is required. Though clearly, they'll need more and greater spikes to move anywhere beyond "distant third". So I don't think anything being said here by any of us is necessarily conflicting. Summary: MS is doing better - but still a long way to go.

-I'm living a poor country. In my country WM is in very very bad situation in spite of Nokia's old history (Nokia was a legend with Ericsson there).
-I tried WM8, personally I think it's so fast. I did not expect that.
-MS should be successful with WM8 because smart phones are future. ERP applications are moving web. This will make meanless which OS installed so MS should be successful WM8 with tablet computers.
-MS got almost one point in the last 12 months because of BB's fall. Noone use BB anymore.
-I heard something; MS made WM8 free for manufacturers. This would be cause there're more WM phones. There are just Nokia and a few HTC WM phones currently.
