I like tabs when the information is clearly related. I especially prefer tabs when the user is likely to need to see all of the information frequently. The main downside I see is that tabs can slow down your forms. I will sometimes move rarely used info to another form. You can also leave the tabs that aren't showing blank when the form loads and just add controls when the user first clicks each of the other tabs. That's a lot of work, though. I usually find that performance is fine as long as you keep the number of tabs reasonable (I usually use 3 or fewer).
