>I think I may have mentioned this once before, but many years ago, when Coffee Mate was a fairly new product, what it said on the label (they've since changed it) was, "An artificial edible oil substitute." Work that one out. Why would anyone create a substitute for an artificial edible oil? Or maybe they had already created a substitute for edible oil, but it was a real substitute, see; so they created an artificial one to replace it. May well be the worst phrasing on a product container I've ever seen.

IIRC, the school buses in Virginia (Beach, perhaps) have an additional tag saying "for official local government use only". Raises lots of questions, like

- do they also have an unofficial local government?
- is it that only the local government must be official while others have the liberty to choose?
- what's a non-local government, one that governs over any territory but its own?
- is the bus for government use, so no other noun may apply (government transportation comes to mind)

Also, my old rant from 2008.

>I heard a Louis CK talking about overused words, and he hated the use of 'amazing'. He heard somebody use it in a restaurant, and he's thinking to himself, really? This amazes you? What are you going to do with the rest of your life? What will you do if Jesus comes down and you've already used up 'amazing' on a basket of chicken wings?

"Slightly more amazed than I normally am!" ?
