Good point Craig. I've seen users embrace the "ugly" - it's best not to spread that to my application as well. I'm coming down to providing the user with a limited set of options (Arial, Tahoma, Seguo UI) and defaulting those options based on the version of window and availability. If they choose not to specify a font, the system would use the "default" font for the OS version.
