>>This is true. Of course, some would argue as to whether zero actually exists. If a tree falls in the forest, does it make a sound? If you have 5 apples and eat one a day for 5 days, how apples do you have? You don't have any apples. But is that the same as having zero apples? Most people say yes. But, do you really HAVE zero apples. Some believe zero is a theory.

>Zero began life as a placeholder some 1,000 years ago...but if you're questioning the concept of zero (which at least is similar to "none"), how about negative numbers. If I have 5 apples and eat one per day for 6 days, how many remain? :)

May be you will lose your fingers, ^_^;

>Well, vfp isn't quite THAT smart - it doesn't know the concept of "approaches"... Humans have enough trouble with that...

I think ***** is stand for overflow in VFP, in the same way,
if you change the character field to shorter length in dBaseIV,
the field will be **** (not cut off some character!!)
The weak wait for chance, The strong bid for chance,
The clever notch up chance, but The merciful give you chance.
