>I must have been to Vegas at least half a dozen times and never bet a dime - if you didn't gamble it was a cheap place to be.

>Andy and I haven't been to Vegas in years. The last time we went, things had gotten way too expensive. I am a low roller and I liked to play the $2 blackjack tables. The last time we went, the lowest ones we could find were $5 tables and even they were scarce. The food had also gotten very expensive.
We were there in January. (Marshal had a conference.) I can't speak to the cost of gambling, since we don't. But food was not cheap. What I really hated though was the sensory overload--sound and smells everywhere. Even walking on the strip, there was music piped in.
The definite highlight of the trip was going to Hoover Dam.
