hmmm, over here utility prices rising or being much above the cost in neighbour countries ticks quite a fe pepole off. In most of these cases there are high specific taxes on the stuff itself (fossil energy) or additional subsidy paid by consumer (solar power) the things hiking the price - and also increasing the VAT on top. If ov switched to pure consumption based, we'd see more of that stuff. As much as I would love to see tax accountants having no work to do ;-)...
