Yep, that's what I've found as well. I've stuck with the older driver for this reason - the varchar(max) had been a bigger blocking issue..

There is also the VFP2C32 project on VFPX which includes ODBC function for SQL. I've been meaning to test it to see if it does a better job handling things.
