>>She said now most tourists go home without eating either. There was a breakdown with our last scheduled host and she took us in herself. What a wonderful woman, with the fattest cat in the world. That cat looked like he had been filled up with air and someone forgot to say when. We had both roast lamb and pavlova.

LOL. NZ has a lot of lamb, pavlova and large cats. We even have a University lecturer who calls herself "Dr Cat Pausè" who fights fatism and the idea that being obese is bad. She has an American accent and a body size you might consider predictable.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
