Biggest issue Text fields is that there are a number of search limitations that don't exist for char/varchar fields.

>I was migrating code that made extensive use of Date fields so upsizing was just easier to use the new odbc driver and the text fields instead of varchar(max). I use the text fields in full-text indexes without issue. I've not found any negatives using text fields despite the ongoing threat of deprecation.
