SourceSafe had a COM API. VFP used that.

>Over the years, tried SourceSafe with SoS - which was good (i.e. sourcesafe as backend only), tried Tortoise with subVersion (good but case sensitive on filenames, which doesn't sit well with Fox; GUI is bad - I had to navigate in Windows to the folders I shared, didn't keep the collection displayed in one place); tried Vault (still using it, practically live in it, only a few quirks but that's mostly my fault), and once upon a time tried VSS for a few months, got nowhere. Whoever managed to get VSS working with Fox deserves a medal. And probably may need a shrink at some point.
