Your links are very helpful. Yes, I see the Hangouts pull-down now. But no friends are there. I just clicked on the random person and see him in my Hangouts list. I will need to learn to "remove" him. But the main thing is to find the person I am suppose to communicate via Hangouts.
I just sent her an email message (she is the one who suggested Hangouts, even though she advertised that the communications will be by Skype).
