In FireFox, when you first made the change I was getting some sort of "not verified" or "no information" tooltip (can't remember exactly what it was) on the https site. Now when I hover over the lock icon to the left of the URL I see "Verified by: Network Solutions L.L.C.".
Maybe IE users accessing the site (or getting redirected) during that transition, caused problems.
Now that you've got the "Verified by...", in a perfect world it should not be necessary to add this site to Trusted Sites in IE.
