On the other hand, the bottom line is that Hobby Lobby (and other religious corporations) just bought themselves some heavy-duty targeting. This is Citizens United, Part 2.

>>Like I said, I have mixed views on this case. Ironically, over the weekend I had a debate with 3 attorneys. I guessed that HL would probably win 5-4, but I didn't want to bet more than a lunch. All 3 thought I was smoking crack and said there was no way in the universe HL would win.

>Maybe they haven't been following the Roberts Court very closely. This is only the latest decision to bring joy to any red-blooded conservative. The crown jewel, of course, being the Citizens United ruling, i.e. our "democracy" is fully for sale to big money. That is not exactly news but it's disheartening when the Supreme Court officially sanctions it.

>If I had part of your weekend lunch you would definitely taken me on the lunch bet. Even with all the other rulings this term I thought surely they won't do THAT. Silly me.

Interesting. Let me try something.

This is only the latest decision to bring joy to any blue-blooded liberal. The crown jewel, of course, being the National Federation of Independent Business, et al., v. Sebelius, Secretary of Health and Human Services, et al ruling.

Perhaps they have been following the Robert's court more closely than you think. ;)
