It is supposed to be but there is always risk. You know, every time they touch a control (or other stuff) to add functionalities, they can touch other parts!!! Overall, it's good. You can also download a small utility (projupg.exe found on the microsoft site) that will help you converting controls from VB5 to VB6.
>Where are the great advantages of VB 6.0 in term of database application developments ?
You have the new Data Environment. Depending on your database engine, Oracle and SQL Server users don't have to go to the SQL Enterprise Manager to maintain there databases. Tables, fields, stored procs, ... can all be created, modified, deleted, executed from within VB.
ADO is another advantage. While it was available in VB5, it wasn't integrated as well as in VB6.
The reporting is now completely change also. Crystal Report is still include for compatibility purpose but for new reports, go with the new tool. It is fully integrated the IDE. You design a report like you design a form.
>Would you recommend not to wait a another minute to get this new version ?
Yes.
