I quite liked Zimbabwe, notably the night train to Victoria Falls, Fothergill Island and the Hwange Game Park. Just over the border in Zambia I met an American military fellow who shouted me and my medical buddy beers all afternoon and a steak dinner for all of us, with total cost US15 for the afternoon.
No idea what it would be like now, but I suspect the Zambian side will be the same as ever and the Zimbabwe side will be tragic.
