Set the textbox property to ReadOnly = .T.. This will cause the color to be set according to what the user has set in Windows.
You could also use Enabled = .F. It will have a different effect. However, according to Windows Ux guidelines, the disabled color indicates the user can do something (example, click a check box) to enable that field.
>Can someone tell me how to do this. I have a field that sometimes I do not want to be changed by the user, but I would like the user to see the contents of that field to be Visible. I would just like the contents to appear a little lighter than normal or somthing like that.

>So, Visible = .F. is not what I am after. Anyone know a good way to do this?
