We're having ribs and steaks and beer....and ribs and steaks and beer :)

On Ted Cruz, I don't like the specifics of this law and it needs to change, but the facts are these. Cruz is a natural U.S. citizen in the eyes of U.S. law. While he was born in Canada and his father born in Cuba, his mother was born in the U.S. and she had lived in the US for X number of years beyond her Y birthday (I forget what the values of X and Y are and don't feel like looking it up)

Had Obama not been born in Hawaii (and I do believe he was born in Hawaii)....but suppose he had not been, he likely would not have been eligible to run for president. His mother had not been in the U.S. for the length of time required in the statute.

I don't agree with the laws - they are over half a century old and need to change.

As for "who initiated it" (the DHS contract), as I stated, draw your own conclusion. This is a fact: In January DHS sought bids for a vendor contract to handle unaccompanied alien children - and referenced the number of 65,000. And now they (the White House, DHS, and ICE) are all claiming the huge spike in numbers are a surprise to them.

If a person doesn't have an explanation, fine. A simple "no idea, don't have a clue, don't want to speculate" suffices. But the tactic of deflection of every observation and every data point back to "philosophical ground zero" of the birther movement - well, let's just say it ran out of steam years ago. :)
