Well, it has beat, as Wynton Marsalis conceded in his well known dis of rap/hip-hop.

I am pretty much a democrat, lower case d, when it comes to music. I like and listen to all genres other than the above. Lately I have been on a country kick. One I like is Miranda Lambert. Her lyrics are outstanding for anyone in any genre. The last CDs I listened to have been by Miranda Lambert, the Orwells, and Emmylou Harris. I still buy CDs, which I suppose confirms my dodderhood. That puts me two generations behind in terms of music acquisition. OTOH I am somewhat open to change; my two darling daughters are devotees of spotify.
